Gunna is already preparing his next chapter.

Less than a year after releasing The Last Wun, the Atlanta rapper has revealed that his next album will be titled Splurge. While an official release date has not been announced, Gunna suggested the project could arrive as soon as October if he feels the music is finished.

Speaking during a recent interview with Forbes’ The Enterprise Zone, Gunna described the upcoming album as a reflection of the artistic growth he has been pursuing.

“I want to tap into my new next level that I’ve been tapping in with,” Gunna said, according to Billboard. “I want to introduce that, which is Splurge. This upper-echelon artist who’s gravitated to another level.”

Despite having a potential release window in mind, Gunna emphasized that he is not interested in forcing the album out before he believes it is complete.

“If I feel ready, it could come out next month,” he explained. “But if I’m not ready, I’m not ready yet. I don’t have a date.”

Gunna’s Next Career Move Is Still Taking Shape

News of Splurge also arrives at a transitional point in Gunna’s career.

His 2025 album, The Last Wun, was largely viewed as the final project connected to his existing agreement with Young Thug’s YSL Records, prompting speculation about whether Gunna would pursue an independent path or partner with another label.

During the Forbes interview, however, Gunna indicated that discussions surrounding his next business move are already underway.

“I wouldn’t say apparently free. We in the works,” he said. “There’s been a lot of talks of what’s being produced and who’s going to be behind me supporting it.”

He did not reveal which companies are involved in those conversations or clarify whether YSL could continue to play a role moving forward.

Even without releasing a solo single so far this year, Gunna has remained active musically. He has contributed to Shaboozey’s “High Noon” and Rich The Kid’s “Too Bad,” while also expanding ventures outside of music through the Wunna Run Club and his partnership with Under Armour.

His previous album also delivered another strong commercial showing. The Last Wun opened at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 80,000 equivalent album units, continuing Gunna’s streak of Top 10 projects.

For now, Splurge does not have a confirmed release date, but Gunna’s comments make clear that the album is actively being developed — and could arrive sooner rather than later if he believes it is ready.
